Jerry Kostro...
Jerome H. Kostro, P.E.
holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University
and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Miami University.
After service as a naval officer, he began a gas industry career which
included engineering, operating, and
managerial positions with Commonwealth
Gas Services, Portsmouth, Virginia (currently a unit of
Nisource/Columbia Gas of Virginia), and the
River Gas Company, Marietta, Ohio (now a division of Dominion/East
Ohio).In 1988, Jerry joined the staff of the Institute of Gas Technology, a gas industry research and education association located near Chicago. During his nine years with IGT he designed, developed and presented highly regarded gas distribution education and training programs to more than of 2,000 engineers, managers, supervisors and technicians from the United States, Canada and more than 20 other countries. In addition, he participated in a number of management, technical, and education/program development consulting engagements for both domestic and foreign clients. Jerry had a lead role in integrating the use of computers into IGT’s educational programs as well as designing and building computer training facilities.
In 1997, Jerry founded LDC Solutions, a company specializing in providing contract on-site educational programs. J. H. Kostro & Associates was founded in 2003 to meet the evolving learning needs of individual public and investor-owned utilities.
Jerry is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He participates in the American Gas Association’s Transmission and Distribution Engineering Committee and has chaired its Education & Communications task group. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
